Balancing Healthful Living and Third Shift Work | Sleep and Health
Posted on 28 March 2017 01:01 PM

I've been working as a third shift employee for the last seven years. For 5 days a week, I work from 9:30pm to 7am. I average about 5 hours of sleep. I have recently adapted a vegan lifestyle for the last 2 months and have been able to perform moderate exercise for at least 20 minutes a day. I have read a variety of articles regarding the negative health effects of working and sleeping within such parameters.

Can I negate the health effects living the vegan lifestyle and keeping physically active despite all this?

Definitely, if you are not getting adequate sleep and are working at nights, your health will be jeopardized.

Drs. Rudy & Jeanie Davis just completed a DVD on this subject. It's called: "Come Apart and Rest Awhile... Or Come Apart".

I think it would be best if you studied the matter for yourself and came to the conclusion that best works for you. Sometimes we aren't able to change our working hours, and if that`s the case, you must do the best you can and keep all the rest of the aspects of health going full strength, but if you are able to change your hours, it would be best for your health. I encourage you to watch the DVD.
