What are the health benefits to gaining muscle mass?

Aerobic exercise is excellent as it oxygenates the body and gets the eliminative processes happening. Some weight training is good though, too. There's no need to do it to excess and bulk up, but there is benefit in doing some weights to help tone the muscles groups and strengthen them.

I'm happy to know theres no need for bulking up. I always wondered about that.
